Candlelight stroll is small-town fun
By: Dan Ward
This year’s Weaverville Candlelight Stroll will take place on Friday, Dec. 9th from 6 – 9 p.m.
Main Street will be lined with luminarias and alive with entertainment. Stroll through our shops and restaurants and experience small-town hospitality. Take a horse-and-carriage ride, then enjoy performances by Weaverville dancers, cloggers, strolling carolers, and more. The Dry Ridge Museum in the lower floor of the Beth Tilson Sprinkle Library will be open with hot cider, cookies and Weaverville’s history on display. The kids will enjoy a visit with Santa.
In keeping with the charity of the season, businesses around town will collect donations for the Weaverville Cops for Kids and Arts for Life. The Weaverville Police Department works hard each year to gather toys for children who might otherwise go without during the holidays. Arts for Life brings art to children suffering from childhood cancer.
The Weaverville Business Association is sponsor of the Candlelight Stroll.
